A client doesn't have to fall before they become a falls risk. According to the Victorian Department of Health, falls account for around 72% of injury-related hospital admissions and 53% of injury-related emergency department presentations in Victoria Under the Support at Home program, the focus is shifting from reacting to crises to preventing them through re enablement. Early Occupational Therapy intervention is one of the most effective ways to reduce falls, support independence, and help older people remain safely at home.
